I take care of international relations at M for Montreal. Always looking for industry professionals (festival programmers, publishers, music supervisors, agents, journalists, etc.) that are interested in the Montreal and Canadian music scene and that would potentially be interested in being invited to attend M for Montreal.

For the past decade, Montreal has become the foundation of an alternative music movement catching the attention and respect of critics all over the world. Patrick Watson, Duchess Says, Martha Wainwright, Champion, Malajube, Cœur de Pirate, Pierre Lapointe and Beast, to name a few, have all benefited from the spotlight that this largest French speaking city in North America has quickly acquired. This impressive roster of artists, serves as the perfect example of veterans who all came together over the last five years at a small but internationally respected music industry event: M for Montreal. More than just a-play-on-words, M for Montreal is a festival that presents local artists to an international delegation of influential decision-makers (festival programmers, agents, bookers, journalists, music supervisors), through a series of highly produced showcases in Montreal and around the world. In a world where boundaries have virtually dissolved, it is, now more than ever, an essential part of one’s viability to secure success outside our territorial borders. In creating a window to the world for artists emerging from the Montreal and Canadian music scene, M for Montreal’s platform – be it the November main event, M on the Quays, the many showcases presented at SXSW, CMJ, The Great Escape, Canadian Music Week or the mini-M concert series – builds bridges between the creators and those who will pass on the good news.
