Personal profile
Nick Sunchild got into electronica at a very early age, developing a passion for electronic music as soon as he had his first PC and Kraftwerk music cassette! That early exposure left a lifelong mark on his soul. Later, as a young man, he worked as an apprentice in metallurgy, radio engineering and the IT industry, but none of these could fulfill his thirst for creativity and expression, or match his passion for electronic music. Call it “coincidence” or “fate,” but on a rainy day in Zurich in the summer of 2002, both Nick and Dylan Knightley were celebrating with a crowd of 650,000 soaking wet party people. Surprised, they looked at each other in the midst of the throbbing mass of dancers, and kept on celebrating with the street parade. Soon, they were at Energy ’02, at the huge, fantastic Hall venue, and began talking about where the music scene was heading. These were the first steps toward the Group Sanity project. That same year, they were again on stage, performing live for the first time, making 2002 their banner year. It would take three years until they released their first single, “Make a Decision,” in 2005. Now, after years of hard studio work, he has come together with trance’s next generation, and artist Andy Finn, to take trance to the next level. Every facet of their lives and friendship is reflected in the way they interpret trance and techno music. Trance and techno have become their identity and define their outlook on life. For Nick Sunchild, trance is not a musical style or trend. Trance has become a way of life!
