PALERIDER is the solo project of Chris Gilcher. He is one part of Levitation and Jelly & Fish who earned some measure of fame through their releases on the early, genre-shaping Café del Mar compilations. “Out Of Time“ originally released on Café del Mar Volumen 4 gains worldwide recognition through the promotional campaign D2 turns into Vodafone in 2002. “More Than Ever People“ feat. Cathy Battistessa, released with Café Del Mar Volumen 5, is the big breakthrough for Chris Gilcher aka PALERIDER and his fellow producers. DJ and compiler José Padilla plays the tune every evening at sundown, until he resigns from the Café del Mar. Hannover’s finest House label Peppermint Jam, run by Mousse T. (I’m Horny), drops a vinyl-remix-package of “More Than Ever People”, starring remixes of Can7 and Sounds Of Life. After a long pause of creativity, in which he pursued design projects, Chris and Marcell are founding their own record label Newpool Music in 2011. Releasing music next to acts like William Orbit, Underworld, Leftfield or Moby on the early Café del Mar compilations definitely left marks on PALERIDER’s development as an artist. While his heritage is still obvious, his driving force is to leave beaten tracks and have a sympathetic ear for contemporary styles and trends. 
This can be heard on his 2012 release “Balkonia Dusk” on the renowned Klassik Radio Compilation Klassik Lounge Werk 10 followed by “The Others” on Klassik Lounge Werk 11. In spring 2014 “The Others” is officially released on Newpool Music featuring Deep House and NuDisco remixes by Hiding Jekyll, Jelly & Fish and DJ Sweep.

Newpool Music – founded in 2011 by Chris Gilcher aka Palerider and Marcell Meyer aka DJ Sweep has its source out of the motivation to arrange a label with extensive and multisided facets of music with focus on dance, chillout and other electronic styles.The founders were able to get experienced label manager Anusch Mehdizadeh enthusiastic about their concept. Anusch has been working for several giants like Virgin Records or EMI gathering an enormous amount of experience and insight. With both their commitment, dedication and profound experience the path has been laid to publish innovative, high quality compilations and other unique releases.Speaking of releases, Newpool Music is still being influenced by successful past projects. We lean towards music that has been extensively featured on compilations like Cafe Del Mar Volume 4, Volume 5 and lately released Finca AM. Levitation’s song More Than Ever People was certainly our most renowned release. Nevertheless we do not commit exclusively to Cafe Del Mar-esque productions. Acts like Jelly&Fish that happened on Virgin Records 1998 seriously shaped our developement towards a more energetic and dancefloor-filling style. Since then several house and breakbeat projects have been released. Even Kate Bush personally authorized a cover version of her world-wide hit single Running Up That Hill.Our philosophy and conviction is to create music with the effect to let people sense the vibe & emotion, special energy and glamouros spirit of our artists’ creations.
