Irena, born in the Ukraine and studied music in Manchester, is not just another beauty on the European dance scene. Boasting a unique vocal talent, there is something inexplicable, almost mysterious, which all of her songs are infiltrated by. Being a classically trained jazz singer whose CD collection includes Kraftwerk and Joy Division records suggests that we are not dealing with another “common soldier” of the army of pop/dance singers. Her compositions are full of dark energy and 90’s sounds, European epicness and seductive 80’s glam. After success of her previous synth – pop project Rubika (some critics compared her with Blondie and Goldfrapp), Irena decided to experiment with fusing the elements of electro and eurodance into dance music. The results are a unique combination of cold electronic harmonies, lush rhythms and sulty power vocals. Her recent gigs, where she shared the stage with Frank Music and Sugababes, secured a very promising future for her international solo career.I rena is busy in the studio working on some new material for laterin the year.
