Personal profile
Joseph Kavanagh is a social entrepreneur who has had, to date, a rich and varied career spanning several disciplines. A can-do individual, Joseph has many strings to his entrepreneurial bow and is passionate and dedicated to a fault. After successfully running his own businesses from the age of 18, he diversified into stock-auditing where he built his practice and consulted for the licensed, retail and pharmaceutical trades. He voluntaraly project-managed the colliery broadband cross comminity initiative, delivering broadband and telephony solutions to rural areas who to that point were unsuccessful in securing a service for their communities. He also implemented the 1st democratic community council election in his home town, managed a singer / songwriter and still found time along the way to achieve a Diploma in Computer Management and embark on a Master's in Music Business Management at the University of Westminster in London. Through his career to date, Joseph has obtained a proficient working knowledge of the music business, and this, combined with his academic studies, has equipped him with an exceptional skill-set in relation to that industry. Joseph has experience in music publishing and management and he has, since 2007, been instrumental in setting up a number of not-for-profit initiatives with the aim of guiding and encouraging young artists. These include the Interim Music Initiative, The Young Artists Association of Ireland & The Young Artist Development Awards (YADAs).
