主題: Great move !
- A great move! Probably, should have come earlier in the day, but, better late than never, they say! Amidst all this, one wonders, does this solve all issues the artists face each day in India? or is this just the beginning?
- Honestly, I do not think that infighting ever brings a solution. A large democracy like us needs to understand that it is only with negotiations that issues can be solved and not with in fighting and court cases that drag on for years. We need to stand up as one single Indian music community and make revenues from the digital wave. World over everyone is trying to figure out how we can harness this 4 trillion USD giant wave. Take a look at China. The guys don't even speak proper English but take tuition classes to learn English just so that they can go back home and record songs in English and release it on the internet and make money. You never know someday they might start off in Hindi as well :-) Lets face it - A Large country like us cannot find permanent solutions to age old problems like copyrights. Not because we are not keen to or are unable to. But its because of the volume of the people involved in any decision making and the complexity of their views. We need to find quick fix solutions and plug in solutions to move on. Of course find long term solutions to problems of artists and the creative community but necessarily make money for all involved as of now. Dhirubhai Ambani once said "When we break the Roti (Indian BREAD) into pieces, we are all focusing on the share each of us get and keep asking ourselves whether it will suffice our hunger. Do not look at the size of the roti that each of us get to eat at the dinner table. Instead focus on making the size of that one ROTI (that we are trying to share) bigger each day thereby increasing each of our shares "
