Undeniably, it’s an ambitious work, especially for an artist so young, created an epic in history of music. By virtue of his phenomenal talent and his passion for music, he and the Bansuri are literally synonymous. His transcendental performance creates anxiety in one’s heart. The magical hands faster than the speed of light, mutually acknowledge his every blow. It takes us on a journey through different eras. The mind blowing calculation gives a blend of different types of music. Adept in kirana gharana, plays both vocal and instrumental style. The young engineer knows how to create waves of melody in one’s soul. Shashank was born on 19 June 1989 in Bangalore. He was taught devotional songs by his parents & his grandmother, which made them his first guru’s. At the tender age ( 6 years),he stepped into the world of music under the guidance of Carnatic classical teacher Smt Saraswathi. From here his formal training in music began. He was trained under her for 4 yrs. This was the time when Vidwan Sri H.S.Sampath kumar foremost disciple of T.R.Mahalingam settled down as his neighbour. Mesmerized by the charming tone of the flute he approached the maestro. Seeing the Knowledge and the love towards music in him, he was accepted as his student by the maestro. From here his travel through the world of music, with his beloved flute, started. He had the great fortune of learning vocal as well as flute under the same teacher. Simultaneously he started to learn vocal under Vidwan Sri Kumaraswami [famous as gudi bande brothers’]. Sudden dismiss of vid.Sampath Kumar left him blank. This was a huge turning point in his musical journey. This is when he decided to take up Hindustani classical music.He started learning Hindustani classical flute, popularly known as Bansuri started under the guidance of Sri Jayateerth Kulkarni . Then as suggested by his guru Jayateerth Kulkarni ‘ji he joined Pandith Sri Venkatesh Godkhindi for advanced training. In the due course of mastering, the art of playing the flute, he has also mastered the art of making the flutes. He stands among the finest Flute makers of India. He makes both Carnatic & Hindustani flutes. Experience that has always counted made him to improvise & has added a few features which make the playing easy. Contact him for any kind of flutes. Some of his achievements are listed here. -> Learning music from more than 15 years, initially started with carnatic vocal, then started learning carnatic flute, then stepped into hindustani classical music, hindustani classical flute under Pt.Venkatesh Godkhindi. -> Stands amongst the best flute makers in INDIA. -> Scored Music for a short film which bagged 2nd place in international short movie competition. -> Given more than 150 performances including solo, group all over India. -> Played for more than 50 recordings, has composed music for various albums, telefilms, short movies.
