I started my career mid eighties, with a mbaqanga band called Dennis Dumede and Teenagers based in Johanessburgh and started a band called City sound which was doing same genre, then I came back to Durban to work with a brothers band called Madlala brothers. I 1994 I recorded another album of my own band again then to be knows as City sound Brothers. at the same time I started another band called Amaqhawe, seeng that maskanda genre was rising. three years later I was hired by Abakhwenyana band in Johanessburgh where I did three albums with them, that band collapsed after the manager passed on. Then I refocused on my bands which is Amaqhawe, and I also do afro-pop as my name Bhekezakhe Mthembu, currently I am reviving the Abakhwenyana Band. I have produced several underground artists in studion
