We first started out in the music industry by assisting with a fundraiser for a very sick baby, where we had a couple of local band, when after the show while talking to a few of the musicians about the lack of publicity and support our South African musicians receive from the South African Music Industry and media. I then decided to start a local music ''newspaper, called SA Music News, with the goal of supporting and promoting our local musicians. It all exploded when we assisted with the Soccer World Cup in 2010, where we covered Freshly Ground and Shakira's "world Cup" song, and the first ever live 3rd performance by The Parlotones at the Nelson Mabdela Square, as well as with the Soccer World Cup School Initiative. SA Music News is an independent South African based online music magazine established in August of 2007 with the main focus on supporting and promoting the South African Music Industry. However, we do not ignore the influences from the amazing international artists and bands from all over the world. We are a dedicated and unique team of music lovers and professionals brought together from all walks of life, from all over South Africa, all with one thing in common... our love and passion for music, and our mission in supporting and promoting our local musicians and friends in the music industry, as well as all those 'little people' such as the 'roadies and techies' who slave behind the scenes. We are proud to be able to, through the S.A.
