Personal profile

I first made a name for myself as a bass player in November 1997 after bursting onto the local music scene in Milton Keynes with Indie/Rock/Pop quartet, Cirrus Minor, co-founded with my brother, David. In just six months of the bands inception at a time when Brit-pop was rapidly fading, we turned the attentions of the music industry, interest from Anglia Television, and stole the crown of Milton Keynes. The sad and untimely death of my brother in May 1998 led to the demise of the band and by the turn of the millennium I became the founder member and sonic architect of Milton Keynes Alternative/Indie/Rock band, Supakarma. During our two year reign we were featured on X-FM and Food Records as no.1 unsigned band of the month and reached no.2 on the European chart Popwire.com. Following a split from Supakarma in 2002 and a two year solo spell writing and performing acoustic gigs around London, I went on to form Psychedelic/Electronica/Rock band, The Poppy CoDeans in 2004. Having supported Tom Hingley (The Inspiral Carpets) at The Angel, Bedford, in December 2006 we were asked to support Babyshambles at Nottingham’s Rock City. This was of course one of the highlights of my life as a striving musician and although we raised the roof and warmed to an unbiased near capacity crowd, the window of opportunity proved to be elusive. Since 2007 I have spent a lot of time writing, recording and performing new music, and to date, in my quest for musical salvation, with help and support from the multi-talented musician & producer, Livingstone Brown, my main goal is to approach record labels with my songs for other artists to use in order to pursue a career and establish myself as a songwriter. https://soundcloud.com/stevesciberras
