Personal profile

Change and movement had influenced her childhood and continued in later life. She soon developed as a collector of stories, cross-thinker and a born entertainer and loved to immerse in new worlds. As a musical education was not possible, she dedicate to the rhythms and structures of mathematics and the melody of changes and worked as business organizer, project manager and in adult education. The passion for music and movement and the legacy of her musical ancestors could not be suppressed, however. This was reflected in a career as a ballroom dancer and movement teacher, in which she did intensively research in the roots of music, its meaning and effect. There were also first chorus and musical experiences and passionate encounter with the Brazilian culture, Bossa Nova, Samba and street percussion. After a few semesters in the percussion class of the Jazz School Zurich and various workshops in Brazilian percussion, conga, cajon, funk ensemble, vocal and body percussion, she expanded her world through a 2-year percussion education in Germany. Here, she now added her existing knowledge of Brazilian and Cuban rhythms and instruments with modern and African percussion, as well as didactical rudiments. This did not diminish the passion for samba and bossa, but extended it with salsa and Latin jazz. She plays percussion and sings in several bands; from funk to world music to salsa; in pure percussion projects; in a big band for ballroom dancing: in the samba school Leões do Zurique and as well in on-demand creative projects in various styles. Her music is always complex, and groovy, she move people's hearts and bodies with her singing and her rhythms. Her Motto "Roots and Performance", now also applies to the world of dance and music.

Company profile

Connected to the Groove and carried by a melodic soul. Her passion for Bossa Nova, Latin, Funk and jazz, leads to a touching performance in sensual vocals and impulsive percussion. Whether as the driving Congeira for salsa- and sambadancers, as big band singer with an old style swingvoice, or a sympathetic singing entertainer in various Latin Jazz bands, we experience a dedicated, sometimes mischievous artist who is looking for lively dialogue through music. In addition to the multilingual singing Groovelle plays as the main instrument conga; and so: Cajon, Bongos, Pandeiro, Maracas, Shaker, Body Percussion, and various other small Percussion and Noises.
