Personal profile
Aditya Jassi (born 21 March 1982 in New Delhi) is truly is a rock star who has been rocking the nation for quite some time now. Having performed at innumerable institutions and venues all across the country, he has fan clubs all over the internet. He also won the song of the year and his Rock band Oritus won album of the year in 2006 at the Indian Rock Awards. Not only that, his song "Many a mile" was rated No.1 in the Rolling Stone magazine. His guitar lessons started in school at the age of 15 during his boarding years at Welham Boys School, Dehradun. A Licensed Pilot and a former TV News Anchor/Journalist, Aditya, now a Playback singer, is well versed with the finer nuances of guitar, harmonica, bass, mandolin and others and has not looked back since. Having learnt the superior and intricate art of Hindustani Classical Sangeet from his Guru Nadeem Khan, Aditya belongs to the Rampur-Sahswan Ghraana, however, he feels that sky is the limit for knowledge. Music is his lifeline, music is what keeps him sane and music is what got him to Fame X (a sequel reality show to Fame Gurukul, judged by Daler Mehndi, Palash Sen, Ganesh Hegde & MTV. His stint with jingles, radio spots and private albums has been going strong, having sung for innumerable brands like Hero Honda, VODAFONE, Monte Carlo, Hyundai, Ranbaxy, MAX INSURANCE, METLIFE, Nokia, O2, Samsung and many more. The freshness of his musical work was appreciated by the Oxford University Press, when he composed audio books titled BUTTERFLY for them containing nursery rhymes for children of LKG & UKG. His bollywood debut as a playback singer for the movie "Strangers became a rage amongst the youth and found quite a listening on the radio too. "Yaad Aaye Woh Din" from "Strangers", is heartfelt and makes for a sensitive listening. He sang the title track called Uthale ya Phekde for the movie Dil Kabaddi and the song was a hit on all countdown charts. The title song "Tension Lene Ka Nahi, Dene Ka" from the movie JUGAAD, is sung by him featuring his band Ni9Ne- the video of which is still ruling the roosts on all channels. Despite having found influence in bands like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and the Seattle sound- a phrase he has given for the bands he loves like Pearl Jam, The Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains among others all of which descend from Seattle, he loves Indian music, which is the new surge of experimentation that now defines music in Bollywood i.e., A.R. Rehman, Shanker-Ehsaan-Loy, Amit Trivedi and Salim-Suleiman. The soon to be released album incorporates his Western and Indian style of singing and is set to make your pulse soar. "His vocal quality sets him apart from the plethora of singers in the music scene today. "This guy is a rock star and will be one of the biggest musical stars in the country", says Music Director and Producer Sachin Gupta.
