Johannesburg based Max-Hoba is a 2015 SAMA Award nominee(Best African Adult Album), WAWELA Award nomiee(Songwriter of the Year), Standard Bank Ovation Award Winner at the National Arts Festival 2015(Performance Excellence), a versatile and multitalented singer-songwriter, a brand ambassador, Humanitarian(Oxfam - WFC Campaign 2015). One of the best exports from SA, His music is a mixture of Soul, Xhosa and Sesotho folk, Hip Hop, Reggae delivered in a distinct South African way. Also known as "The Traveling Man", He has performed and wowed audiences in all over South African, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Germany, Spain, and France. Max-Hoba's stage presence is electrifying, transcends all barriers and takes audiences on a cosmic journey through music. In his career he has worked with the cream of the crop of South African musicians as a producer, songwriter, composer and featured artist. A self fought musician and considered one of the best performers of his generation. As an independent artist, he has managed to shape his career to be one of the most reputable artists of his time always striving for something other than the norm bringing a fresh breeze to the game. With two albums under his belt "Making History" and most recent "Traveling Man" 2014 release, Max-Hoba's music is as timeless as the music made by South African greats before him, a marvel to see on stage. In 2014 and 2015 he wowed crowds at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival with his electrifying performance setting the bar for a global stars US RnB/Soul singer Dwele and multi award winning British icon Billy Ocean. Also performed and hosted the inaugural Walter Sisulu Fundraising Jazz Concert alongside local greats such as Caiphus Semenya, Jonas Gwangwa and Simphiwe Dana. At Macufe Main Jazz Festival where he shared the stage with American greats like Kirk Whalum and Shantay Savage. Most recent has been his short but very effective stay in Europe where he performed as part of the IMEXSA showcases at Primavera PRO in Barcelona, Spain and Midem in Cannes, France.
